Bendetta Mori Ubaldini makes unusual art from chicken-wire. Her chicken-wire sculptures have no internal structure. The lack of internal support adds to the sense of magic in her work. The 3D forms are experiments in color and light. The result is an enhanced sense of depth on what is essentially a transparent material. The Italian-born artist lives and works in London where her solo show at Fat Galerie is running through the 21st of March.  ‘what I love is creating three dimensional pictures.
my balloon pieces are what I fondly call - ugly art -
they deal humourously with sexuality, body issues and
everyday life.
the pieces I do with chicken wire come from a childlike side
of my imagination. the magical power of transparency is capable of giving each piece the lightness of an apparition, a ghostlike quality,like a trance from memory.
