The Energy-efficient ‘Kuggen’ is a circular office building on the Chalmers University of Technology campus in Gothenburg, Sweden. The award-winning design features a glazed terracotta exterior in six different shades of red and one shade of green.
Proving that green architecture can be done in red, the ingenious design maximizes natural light while controlling unwanted solar gain. The energy-efficient Kuggen has state-of-the-art temperature control and 192 office units surrounded by flexible-use open space. Bridges connect it to the adjacent campus.
