Born in Israel in the 1970s, Emek is an artist, graphic designer and illustrator who is credited for helping to revive the rock poster scene.

His inspiration comes from rock art posters from the 60s, and 80s punk flyers. Emek’s work began to gain notoriety in the 1990s when he started doing posters for bands like Pearl Jam and Radiohead.

Implications - The punk movement of the 1960s to 1980s had a lasting impression on pop culture that persists in today's trends. The design, music and fashion industries continue to look to the retro punk movement for inspiration, as it is arguably the first aggressively rebellious youth group in pop culture to date.
