Ekaterina Vagurina has started to work with an unorthodox material for her home furnishings collection: concrete. Starting with a desk, Dobrostol, and a cutlery box, Dobrobox, she shows the world that although tough and cold, it can be given a contemporary appeal that is much more inviting that one would initially expect.

For instance, Ekaterina Vagurina gave the Dobrostol desk a fun and curvy silhouette that is as practical as it is pleasing to the eye. One side acts as a built-in organizer for cups and stationary. Ekaterina Vagurina also juxtaposes the concrete with wood and yellow metal to give it a friendlier aesthetic. As for the Dobrobox, Ekaterina Vagurina cleverly marks its purpose with a wooden sliding lid that features a cutout of a fork and spoon.
