In July, I found some ingestible gold pills.  Now, a company called DeLafee is offering Swiss chocolate pralines which are laced with 24 carat edible gold leafs.  The gold pills ran for $275, but edible chocolate only costs $98.40 for a box of eight.  I’d say that’s a bargain of a price for the opportunity to ingest your wealth.

Implications - As the public recovers from the recent economic downturn, products that are extravagant are on the rise as companies tap into the consumer desire to appear wealthy and unaffected. Additionally, businesses are catering to a smaller population who not only remained unaffected by the recession, but came out on top and continue to invest in products such as these for show.
