Volvo Moves Forward with ReCharge

Volvo is moving forward with plans to create their eco-friendly cars, despite the Detroit woes and general worldwide financial crunch. The micro-hybrid ReCharge is their latest incarnation, which should be released to charge up the market in 2011. Two versions, a complete hybrid (diesel and gas) and a plug-in electric, are slated to move forward.

Implications - Collectively, today's consumers are much more environmentally conscious than ever before, resulting in electric cars, upcycled materials and other green innovations that are becoming more and more commonplace as days pass. Ignoring the eco-conscious concerns of many will prove detrimental to any company's success, with more than half of consumers expressing concern for the environment.
