NYC Fashion Trend From the Garbage Dump

Oh my!  Dump wear is hot!  But it might not be what you think.  One of the hottest accessories on celebs and citizens of New York is the sought-after brown cap of the New York Department of Sanitation.  The department launched a line of its branded products last year, and now they’re pretty hot.  Post 9/11, the Police Department and Fire Department of NY managed to generate over $20 million a year in revenue.  So why shouldn’t the garbage men get in on the action?  One city official reported, “We were high-fiving each other to see someone out on the street, wearing this stuff, is so cool.”
