Chipotle's new digital makeline was designed and built by Hyphen and this collaborative robot system takes on the task of building bowls and salads while employees prepare burritos, tacos and quesadillas. Bowls and salads are created by an automated system that moves the ordered entrées through the bottom makeline so that ingredients for the order can be dispensed automatically and in the correct portion. At the end of the line, a Chipotle team member only needs to put a lid on the completed entrée and add any additional items, such as chips, side sauces and guacamole.
