Canvas' Crowd Management Beacons Aim to Reduce Theme Park Lines

In preparation for Halloween this year, Orlando's Canvs groups is developing an interactive experience for theme parks that will also aid with crowd management.

The group participated in NBC Universal's theme park hack-a-thon in March, attempting to brainstorm ideas for ways to cut down the wait times to get into popular attractions. Although many parks already feature passes for purchase that let visitors bypass lines, this beacon experience is set to give guests more time to explore. Equipped with the right theme park app, Canvs imagines that instead of wasting time simply holding a spot in line, guests would receive instructions on their phones for a scavenger hunt in the park.

As well as boosting engagement and giving fans more time to partake in activities at the park, this technology will be particularly useful for data collection.
