'Favor' is one of many new convenient delivery services that are emerging as the sharing economy grows.

This peer-to-peer service makes it possible for a user to browse local stores and restaurants from a mobile app and then specify the items that they want to purchase. Rather than having this action be carried out by a delivery truck, Favor uses a team of part-time and full-time "Runners," or people who are eligible to earn about $15 an hour for helping people to acquire everything from groceries and clothing to office supplies.

While Favor customers pay for their purchases within the app, the service does not completely make the process of visiting a store to pick up physical items completely redundant.
