You might have decorated sugar cookies with frosting before, but these colorful cookies are transformed with watercolor. Created by Jacquelyn Clark of Lark & Linen, the homemade watercolor cookies are perfect for Easter, Mother's Day and a variety of other occasions.

The DIY sweets require a bit of artistic ability with a food safe paint brush. The blogger suggests using a test cookie to experiment with the color before embarking on your batch in earnest. Using your favorite sugar cookie recipe, you can make colorful cookies using gel food coloring, clear almond or vanilla extract, white fondant and white icing.

Other tips Jacquelyn has include only use three or four paint colors and stick to simple patterns.
