As convenient as Nespresso's coffee pods are, many have noted the potential wastefulness of continuously trashing single-use pods. The company is responding to this environmental concern by offering a simple recycling program for its consumers. Currently available in Australia and the US, the program lets Nespresso drinkers return their used coffee pods through the mail.

For the recycling program, Nespresso offers a free recycling bag with orders of its coffee pods. These bags can hold up to 130 used capsules. Once full, consumers seal the bag and put it in a mail box (in Australia) or bring it to UPS (in the US.) Nespresso then pays for the shipping fees and recycles the coffee pods for consumers.

While the pods are technically recyclable, consumers can't recycle them on their own because they are too small to be processed by most plants.
