Disney Goes Bollywood - Cheetah Girls One World (VIDEO)

Disney has gone Bollywood with Cheetah Girls One World.  Cheetah Girls was already a hit musical franchise with a five year history.  Given Disney’s international success, an entry into India seemed natural.  However, critics and fans a like will be watching this particular expansion closely.  Transitioning a hit franchise into a such a revered style does represent a significant move.

Cheetah Girls One World kicks off with three of the shows hopefulls changing their life plans when cast into an Indian musical. The young starlets, Chanel (Adrienne Bailon), Dorinda (Sabrina Bryan) and Aqua (Kiely Williams), were already members of the original Cheetah Girls series.

The actresses spent months in different Indian cities, noting that the cultural experience had a dramatic impact on their lives.  Perhaps the movie will also have a dramatic impact on North American fans. 

Adrienne Biailon sums it up best, “I think our movie will open some eyes to a whole new culture.”
