Claiming that she was inflicted with emotional trauma, a 12 year old girl and her family are sueing for $400,000 in damages after a classroom screening of the pro-gay movie, Brokeback Mountain. The claim also cites negligence, false imprisonment and the claim that this emotional trauma was intentionally inflicted.
The family of a schoolgirl from Chicago is sueing the city's Board of Education for negligence, false imprisonment and intentional infliction of emotional distress – after the girl's class was shown the film Brokeback Mountain... universally labelled 'the gay cowboy movie'.
The suit claims that the teacher at the Ashburn Community Elementary School, Ms. Buford, introduced the film by saying 'What happens in Ms. Buford's class stays in Ms. Buford's class'. The family is seeking £202,000 ($400,000) in damages.
