Using an outline of a world map, BreathingEarth shows graphic illustrations to bring awareness to environmental issues. At the bottom of the atlas is a counter that is constantly updated with numbers representing number of births since the site goer entered the page, deaths, and, the most shocking statistic of all, how may tonnes of CO2 have been emitted in that amount of time.

In the 25 seconds I looked at the site, 602 were born, 243 died and 101,000 tonne of CO2 were emitted.

Moving the cursor over certain regions of the globe gives more specific facts.
