Table saws make working with wood easy, but they can also result in nasty incidents where people lose their fingers -- the Bosch Reaxx is a new table saw that can detect the difference between a piece of wood and a finger and drop the blade out of the way to prevent an accident.
The Bosch Reaxx uses the Bosch Active Response Technology to detect fingers. Rather than braking the blade as other finger-detecting table saws do, the Bosch Reaxx uses a piston released that drops the blade and pushes it out of the way before it can cause injury.
This table saw is a great example of technology being used in a common sense manner to both reduce incidences of injury and, as a result, improve the quality of work.
