This Bisque Recipe Creatively Transforms Pizza Pie into a Liquid Dish

Geoff Kutnick recently put together a creative bisque recipe that replicates the taste, texture and ingredients popularly found in pizza in a refreshing new soup format that is ideal for cooler months. The soup duplicates a pizza pie with similar ingredients that is incredibly filling while offering a new way to enjoy the iconic dish.

The pizza soup recipe is made using a tomato base that pays tribute to the marinara sauce traditionally topped on the crust. The bisque is thickened with cream to give it a sauce-like consistency. The soup is served in bread bowls that act as the crust and is topped with mozzarella cheese and pepperonis before being baked. The cheese hardens and caramelizes for added flavor. The dish can easily be made gluten-free by eliminating the bread bowl.
