Though Oscar Mayer is known for its meat products, the brand is actually celebrating world vegan day this year with a 'BacOFF.'
November 1st is World Vegan Day and Oscar Mayer is celebrating with what it's calling the BacOFF challenge that asks fans to give up bacon for the day. Then, the brand will select one lucky winner to receive a lifetime supply of bacon. Of course, the brand knows just how tempting bacon can be, which is why it's censoring bacon by removing it from its website, social media, and all other advertising content. As Anne Field, Head of North American Brand Communications, Oscar Mayer, Kraft Heinz Company, explains, "Deliciously tempting bacon, smoked with real wood smoke for 12 hours, can be tough for those who wish to give up meat. That’s why we’re doing our part to celebrate World Vegan Day by removing the bacon-y temptation our advertising creates and rewarding those who make the tough choice to abstain from the irresistible.
