It won't be long before the cars of oil barons and Internet tycoons are covered in GEMBALLA's new automotive diamond coating. The Porsche tuning company has reportedly created the first automotive coating made with real diamonds.

Details on the automotive diamond coating are scarce, but GEMBALLA has revealed a bit about how its team created it. The diamonds used in the coating are 100 percent real, and are grounded down into a form so fine that they can be seamlessly applied to the rest of the mixture. GEMBALLA claims that the diamond coating will provide a boost to lightweight carbon fiber cars, seeing as how diamonds are a form of carbon. Whether the automotive diamond coating helps make cars any faster is up for debate.
