 2009 Saturn Sky Get this: you can now pre-order one of the 300 limited 100% Electric Converted Saturn Sky cars by Advanced Mechanical Products (AMP). Coming with a maximum speed of 90 mph, 0 to 60 in 5.7 Seconds with Zero Emissions, Zero Pollution, and most importantly Zero Gasoline Needed, this sexy beast is the ultimate environmental supercar with one charge lasting for 150 Miles. The delivery will be in early 2009. Tim Wieck, Chief AMP Engineer explains, “The AMP car is the best of both worlds. All the design excellence of a GM Saturn, combined with AMP engineering. And with stats like 0 to 60 in under 6 seconds and 90 mph top speed, believe me, this is no golf cart!” The unique model is a converted Saturn Sky whose combustion drive train has been replaced with electric motors, safe lithium batteries, and AMP proprietary control software. The cost of the conversion is $25,000, doubling the car’s price to about $50,000. You can even have your own 2007 Saturn converted if you do not want to purchase a new one.  AMP is only converting 300 vehicles in the first production run, and those conversions will be done on a first-come, first-served basis. So buyers are encouraged to purchase sooner rather than later, to ensure availability. AMP is only accepting orders in the Greater Cincinnati, Ohio area, so they can provide service from their Cincinnati facility.
