Amazon One, the new contactless payment system from online retailer Amazon, allows users to fulfill payments using the palm of their hand. Utilizing infrared light, this system reads the unique lines, grooves, ridges, and veins of the palm to authenticate the user and allow access to a linked credit card or account.
Amazon One is being gradually implemented across various retail outlets, grocery stores (including Whole Foods), and entertainment venues. Notably, the card offers a variety of benefits, including verifying a customer's age, functioning as an entry system, or replacing a loyalty card.
Amazon One was also trained to recognize the differences between a live and fake palm, enhancing the overall reliability and security of the tool.
