The Alappuzha Social Justice Department Launches an Elderly Campaign

In Alappuzha, the Social Justice department has initiated the 'Thanalekiyavarke Thanalavam' campaign, which focuses on the environment and elderly protection. Subcollector Sooraj Shaji officially launched the campaign during an event at St. Joseph’s Poor Home in Punnapra.
This initiative, carried out in collaboration with the General Education department, runs from World Environment Day (June 5) to World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (June 15). The campaign involves high school students visiting local old-age homes tp assist the aging population with various tasks and activities. During these visits, they engage in activities such as planting saplings, interacting with the elderly residents, cleaning the surroundings, and organizing entertainment programs.
To kick off the campaign, 30 students from Aravukad Higher Secondary School extended their support by visiting St. Joseph’s Poor Home.
