15 Ways Toronto Does it Better

Happy 175th Birthday, Toronto!

Even though Toronto was once a gathering of Aborigine natives and the French built a fort there in 1720, it wasn’t officially founded until March 6, 1834. Originally known as the Town of York, Toronto was adopted as the name of the settlement of 10,000 people. Since then, Toronto's population has grown to 2.5 million. The United States coveted Toronto during the War of 1812 and attacked and occupied the city numerous times.

Below, check out a slideshow of 16 sweet Toronto-based innovations to celebrate the city's 175th birthday.
