The paparazzi have long been a cloud of snap-happy gnats in the faces of public figures, celebrities and athletes; now these famous faces are taking to the Internet to battle the paparazzi by penning their own celebrity blogs.
Ashton Kutcher (@aplusk) and Demi Moore (@mrskutcher) prefer Twitter to share impromptu pictures and links. Kutcher has even used Twitter to field questions for Bruce Willis when the group went out to dinner a few weeks ago. Other celebrity blogs stray away from Twitter's microblogging format, like Kim Kardashian, Kobe Bryant and Rafael Nadal.
By bypassing the paparazzi entirely, celebrity blogs allow fans and readers to access a raw, unfiltered feed of these individuals' lives that isn't possible by reading third-party content from TMZ or even a gossip blogger who has befriended celebs, like Perez Hilton.
