A doctor in California announced that he is overwhelmed with parents who want to customize their baby - before it is born. Jeff Steinberg, the fertility doctor said he plans to offer designer babies by using existing technology that will let anyone choose specific traits they consider desirable. The designer baby doctor is unswayed by arguments that it’s unethical.

“Genetic health is the wave of the future,” he told the New York Daily News. “It’s already happening and it’s not going to go away. It’s going to expand. So if they have major problems with it, they need to sit down and really examine their own consciences because there’s nothing that’s going to stop it.”

For $18,000 adults can choose customized offspring starting this fall and the results far exceeded Dr. Jeff Steinberg’s hopes.
