Clever hack "Disrupt Taco Bell" tells you exactly the amount of food you can order for what you have in your pocket. It's simple: you (the drunk at 1am gordita crunch lover) sends an email to a secret address with a specified dollar amount in the subject line. In return, you are sent a complete list of all the items you can order that will total under your cash limit. As an added bonus, you are also sent the caloric value of each menu item. Developed at the TechCrunch Hackathon by Kunal Batra a Developer Evangelist at Sendgrid, the hack generally targets college kids with food budgets for those late-night taco runs. However, despite it's simple design and frivolous nature, there is the possibility to extend the hack into other areas where budgeting is important. However, Batra's model could take on a more practical purpose by applying the hack to families seeking to make grocery lists on fixed incomes, or to folks dining out who are monitoring calorie intake. Oh, the email address is tacobell@sendmail.io. You're welcome.
