The App-Connected Tzukuris Makes Losing Your Sunglasses Difficult
Laura McQuarrie — May 2, 2014 — Tech
If you frequently find yourself losing your sunglasses, Australian sunglass maker Tzukuri may just have the answer to your problems. Tzukuri's sunglasses are app-connected and use Bluetooth Low Energy to notify you if you've wandered off too far without your glasses.
The glasses themselves are solar-powered so that they're always on alert and even if you don't open the app, moving away 16' from the glasses will trigger a notification. If you manage to miss a notification, there's really no worry either, since the sunglasses make use of Apple's iBeacon technology and are able to point out exactly where they are located on a map.
Tzukuri will soon start crowdfunding and as part of the campaign, its sunglasses will be available for $230. Pairs of trackable prescription Tzukuris are also in the works, but with glasses expected to ship out in January 2015, you might have to settle for a few lost pairs of glasses this summer.
