The world's strongest beer is called Snake Venom -- and it contains 67.5 percent alcohol. The Scottish team behind this beer had already created a 65% beer a year before that was considered "too weak" by their fans. The team subsequently created 'Snake Venom' and the rest is history.
Snake Venom contains considerably more alcohol than whiskey, rum, vodka or gin. The previous world-record was held by the 'Armageddon' but the major complaint was that the brewers tried too hard to mask its alcohol content. This issue spurred the creation of an even more intense bevereage with less masking.
Snake Venom beer is explained to be hoppy, malty and very pleasant in taste. The brewers claim that the taste is actually closer to that of beer than any spirits.
