Kids love fruit roll up snacks -- but the sugar and preservatives can be substituted for a taste that's a bit more natural. These home-made fruit roll ups are great for lunches, snacks, and even healthy Halloween treats.
First off, this recipe is incredibly simplistic, but requires a few key ingredients: a stove, fruit, and in some cases fruit juice. With that said, try to experiment -- there isn't a one-size-fits-all method to approaching these snacks.
Warm your desired fruit (and or juice) in a pot and mix it into a puree. Spread the puree onto oil-sprayed wax or parchment paper. Cook on the lowest setting of your oven (140 F) until the puree is no longer sticky (but expect around 5 hours). Use a sharp knife to cut the paper and treats into strips and roll them up -- you're done.
These delicious snacks are great for kids and are very healthy. Try it yourself.
