This social media graphic my 'MyLife' shows the many ways in which social networks are reshaping the world. As this informative infographic points out, online activity has a huge impact on all aspects of life, from politics to social interaction and the way people are hired. Now, over 80% of universities use social media to communicate with faculty and students.
Although it can be a powerful agent for change, social media can be a real distraction -- one in five users online between the ages of 18-34 spends an average of six hours on social media a day.
Since over-sharing is abundant, the NYPD created an account specifically to track criminals who shared about their crimes online. Beyond the ways we communicate with one another, social media has a powerful effect on all aspects of life.
