The Mikio Sakabe Autumn/Winter 2012 Collection is Abnormally Adorable

Japanese design boasts a vastly inventive fashion that is entirely inimitable -- just like the anime-chic collection Mikio Sakabe Autumn/Winter 2012.
Burgeoning designer Sakabe is the mastermind behind these caricature-like creations. His Akihabara Fashion Week show was attended by an array of Japanese designers and mega fans of the Japanese "2D aesthetic". This brand of style, according to Vice, is based on: all things comic book, manga, and gaming.
The entire project is one of exaggerated proportions. From the bullet-shaped metal shoes to larger than life hair, it is evident that minimalism is not exactly on Mikio Sakabe's agenda. The bold accessories are complimented by girly tulle ballerina skirts in pastel shades of girly pink and light chartreuse.
Sakabe tells Vice: "I’m trying to make fashion that’s freer, more enjoyable, and more open." He has succeeded with this bold approach, it leaves me athirst for what he will dream up next.
