Pinview, a newly-released Facebook app, will come as welcome news to the vocal many who take issue with site’s new Timeline format. Using the visual appeal of Pinterest and the popularity of Facebook, developer Thomas Peterson has created a ‘best of both worlds’ option for users.
Once a user launches Pinview, their Facebook content will be instantly reorganized into the grid-like and simple layout that Pinterest is known and loved for. With the focus on photo content that this design provides, user’s Facebook pages become instantly more visual and image-driven.
Also borrowing a page from Pinterest, Peterson has set up the app so that users can easily filter the content that comes through their feed. At present, filter options include videos, people, friends, or photos.
Already gaining approval and interest from Facebook users, this app may very well be the new direction of the notorious social media site.
