12 Ways to Fight Poverty

From Scarlett Johansson Songs to Third World Tourism

Scarlett Johansson recently joined John Legend, Fergie and others in the song “In My Name” by Will.i.am as a global call to action against poverty.

However, Scarlett Johansson is not the only one in tinseltown spreading awareness about this important issue. Angelina Jolie is well known for her efforts with the United Nations, while Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Bono, Penelope Cruz, Ellen Degeneres, Justin Timberlake and many other celebrities are currently being featured in a Myspace video that calls upon people to make poverty history.

But fighting poverty is not restricted to Hollywood A-listers, a few days ago, 116 young Brits in their underwear set the “Largest Gathering Of People Wearing Underpants” Guinness World Record in an effort to promote Fair Trade’s “Pants to Poverty” cause.

There is no reason why millions of people die from hunger and poverty that could be avoided. Check out the cluster below of twelve ways to raise awareness and help fight poverty. Everyone should help in any way they can, even a post in your blog might help open someone’s eyes and drive them to help.
