A new YouTube subscription service will offer expanded content and ad-free streaming to its exclusive members.

The massive streaming site recently announced the creation of a YouTube subscription, offered in partnership with several large media companies, as well as some of its independent YouTube film creators. The YouTube subscription will give members access to exclusive content from outlets such as Time Warner, Fox Sports and NBCUniversal.

YouTube will also be implementing a Netflix-style funding system for some of its biggest stars, like the Fine Brothers and Smosh. These independent short film-makers will use YouTube funding to create new content exclusively available through the YouTube subscription service.

YouTube subscriptions will be priced at around $10 per month, and will include ad-free streaming for its membership.
