Specialized Workforce Development Initiatives

Kellanova Runs Future-Focused Workforce Training

The major food manufacturing corporation Kellanova is implementing a specialized workforce development initiative at its Jackson, Tennessee, plant – "which is the only plant in the United States that makes Pringles crisp." The goal of this venture is to address a growing scarcity of qualified industrial electricians.

Kellanova's specialized workforce development initiative was envisioned in partnership with the Tennessee College of Applied Technology. It is designed to function as an accelerated pathway for both existing company personnel and local residents to acquire the advanced skills necessary for roles maintaining and repairing complex manufacturing machinery. The curriculum integrates formal instruction with practical, on-site training that will allow individuals to utilize the equipment within the plant and gain mentorship from experienced technicians.

With this initiative, Kellanova strives to significantly reduce the standard training duration for these skilled positions, thereby enabling participants to attain higher-level, more financially rewarding roles in approximately half the typical time.
