Comprehensive Product Development Facilities

Univar Solutions Boosts Food and Beverage Development

Univar Solutions, a global distributor of specialty ingredients, has inaugurated a new facility dedicated to food and beverage development within its existing Solution Center located in Essen, Germany. This specialized kitchen and laboratory space is operating under the name Foodology.

Univar Solutions' food and beverage development facility is intended to function as a collaborative hub for the creation and testing of new food products. The site is equipped to support work across various categories, including bakery items, dairy alternatives, confectionery, and plant-based proteins. The facility is poised to assist food manufacturers in addressing contemporary consumer trends, with a specific focus on developing formulations for cleaner labels, reduced sugar and fat content, and the incorporation of functional nutrients.

Univar Solutions selected Germany as the location of this new venture as this presented a logistical advantage for serving the broader European market.
