As a part of the third portion of their Fall/ Winter release, Japanese brand Whiz released these ads with the models' faces ominously missing.
The result is kind of creepy, but it really shows off the clothing nicely since the bodies of the models give the apparel a strong presence. The timing of the Whiz clothing ads also matches up nicely with Halloween.
Implications - By highlighting certain parts of a product, brands are able to accentuate its attractiveness. Viewing an image as a whole can lead consumers searching for that one element that stands out, which can be an endless process. Subtlety is key for businesses who want to showcase their goods with theatrical backgrounds that are effective, but doesn't take away from the glow of the product at the same time.
