With the theme ‘Reflect, Rejoice, Renew,’ this year’s White House holiday decorations included everything from eco-friendly LED lights to a 400 lb gingerbread house.
Barney’s creative director Simon Doonan had a part in decking the halls of the White House, which was definitely a major production according to The NY Cut Blog. The tree itself was 18.5 feet tall and covered with 800 ornaments. The White House holiday decorations also included four dozen magnolia-leaf wreaths and that monstrous gingerbread house I mentioned earlier—which took six weeks to make and is complete with a carrot and cabbage garden crafted out of marzipan.
