Givenchy's New Voyou Bag Has an Edgy Look and Slouchy Silhouette

Givenchy is gearing up for the spring season with the launch of its new Voyou bag.

First seen in Givenchy's Spring/Summer 2023 ready-to-wear runway show at Paris Fashion Week last year, the Voyou bag is being positioned as the brand's newest statement bag. The new bag has a slouchy, boho silhouette, which contrasts with its edgy look. Buckled strap detailing on the sides and grained calfskin material suggest a biker-inspired vibe, but with a playful twist. As Matthew M. Williams, the brand's Creative Director said in a recent press release: "I wanted to revisit fashion archetypes with a kind of new language and a playful attitude. With the Voyou, you know at a glance that it’s Parisian, but it’s at home wherever it goes, and it makes an everyday style statement that has true staying power." A statement that makes even more sense when you consider that 'Voyou' is a French slang term that translates to 'bad boy.'
