Swiss bathroom brand Laufen works in collaboration with designer Yves Béhar to create the Volta sink. This is the first-ever product that is made using an electric kiln in the history of the brand's factory. It is a water-saving sink that is currently on display at Milan Design Week. It is crafted using the brand's electric tunnel kiln, ensuring that the system is entirely a zero-emissions process.

Marc Viardot, the marketing and design director of Roca Group -- the company that owns Laufen explains that the designer was given "carte blanche to create an icon." Viardot adds, [the sink was] "Inspired by the first CO2-free production in the world, Yves' approach was very fresh and resulted in an unconventional new concept for the bathroom. It feels a bit like we reinvented the wheel – at least the way we relate to the daily use of water."
