In recognition of over 150 years of caffeine production in the mountains, the product aims to stay true to the nation's culinary roots with kola nut, toffee and vanilla flavoring.
Adding to the appeal of the Vietnam Da Lat set is its versatility. The brand promises that the beans can be enjoyed in several formats with espresso, brewed coffee and cold brew options.
Starbucks also aims to highlight standalone features that distinguish this consumer packaged good apart from the rest. According to Patricia Marques, one of the company's partners in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnamese people "...prefer a strong, thick coffee with full body." This line will continue to build on this history.
