Africa and Italy collide within the Valentino Spring/Summer 2016 collection. This ready-to-wear line is filled with tribal couture inspired by the great eastern continent.
Though Italy is always the main source of inspiration for the Italian fashion house, the iconic brand decided to resort farther East for this season's collection. The plain black looks -- such as the empire line tunics -- appeal to the collection's Roman side while the highly decorative and tribal pieces are the obvious African influence. Cuffs and necklines are adorned with feathers and quills while geometric tribal art is seen throughout and line's fringe elements, covering outerwear and dresses.
