Tim Doyle's 'Unreal Estate' Series Focuses on Pop Culture TV Shows

The 'Unreal Estate' art series focuses on bringing various fictional locations that exist in pop culture television programs to life. In particular, he hones in on 'The Simpsons,' 'Arrested Development' and 'Seinfeld.' These typically cheery shows are given a dark and moody overhaul, as though reflecting the state of America now as opposed to happier times.

Created by Tim Doyle, an illustrator and print-maker working out of Austin, Texas, the Unreal Estate series shows places that many people know and love. Doyle comments, "Some of us have been going to these places for decades -- some of these places were taken from us, way too soon."

The Unreal Estate series will be shown at the Spoke Art Gallery in San Francisco.
