Substantial Beauty Retailer Expansions

Ulta Beauty is Opening New Stores in Mexico with Axo's Help

Ulta Beauty, the dominant specialty beauty retailer in the United States, has initiated its first physical international expansion by opening stores in Mexico through a partnership with the local retail operator Axo. This strategic move introduces the brand's comprehensive retail model — which consolidates a wide array of cosmetics, skincare, haircare, and fragrance products alongside in-store services — to a new consumer base.

The initial Ulta Beauty locations are situated in major shopping centers in Mexico City and Metepec, with additional stores planned for other urban areas. This retail expansion will also introduce approximately 35 beauty brands previously unavailable in the Mexican market.

As part of its expansion strategy, Ulta Beauty emphasizes a tailored approach, developed through local collaboration, to ensure the product assortment and store experience resonate with regional preferences and cultural trends.
