As ubiquitous as the fast food chain is, McDonald's is able to test drive a variety of new menu items, including truffle fries at select Singapore stores. In the past, the Golden Arches have offered everything from squid ink burger buns to sakura fries in Asia. This means it is not even the first time they have experimented with their french fries.
The popular side dish now comes with a packet of truffle-flavored seasoning. Other promotional seasonings include cheese and seaweed. To get the full effect of the truffle fries, you simple empty the packet's contents and shake the fries within their brown paper bag to evenly distribute the product.
This is one way McDonald's is trying to offer slightly more gourmet fare.
