Tribal influences play a large role on Louis Vuitton footwear for the label’s Spring 2009 collection. Large wooden beads, brass bits and feathers dangle from satin string ties that hang from both the front and backs of the shoes. Some of the cords are functional and actually hold the shoes on the foot, but others are purely for adornment. The body of the sandals are mixes of snakeskin, leopard prints and suede.
There is a complex mashing of patterns, shapes, and materials, but the look is fun and exciting. The trend to accessorize accessories was also embraced in the collection’s handbags.
