The new Volkswagen Transporter Series van represents a new generation for the German automaker's hugely successful 65-year-old line. The van is set to arrive with a whole array of upgrades and improvements in the styling, equipment and technology areas.
These new Transporter Series vehicles are powered by a 2.0-liter diesel engine that offers between 83 and 201 horsepower. The vehicle will also be made available in 2-liter four-cylinder petrol options with outputs of 148 and 201 horsepower. The addition of a stop/start feature means that these engines could help reduce fuel consumption by as much as an estimated 15%
The Transporter Series has been successful for nearly seven decades now, which is why Volkswagen didn't deem it necessary to make wholesale changes for no reason. These new vans maintain the solidity of the old series but blend them with new technological upgrades for a balanced driving and camping experience.
