Tradeswell is a new startup led by Paul Palmieri (the man behind making Millennial Media public) designed to help Millennials build healthier businesses. According to the brand, these startups tend to have very low-profit margins when using the direct-to-consumer model due to "challenging unit economics" and the company aims to help new e-commerce companies gain the data necessary to compete with more well-established competitors.
“If you’re selling something like Campbell’s Soup, you want to figure out, how is your tomato soup business and your chicken soup business?” Palmieri said. “Today, brands are saying, ‘How’s my Amazon business? How’s my Shopify business? How’s my Shopify business on Instagram?'”
To combat this issue, Tradeswell aims to bring everything–including marketing, retail, inventory, logistics, forecasting, lifetime value, and financials–on one independent platform. This will help "optimize for net margins, rather than simply driving the most impressions or clicks or sales."
