AAA is helping to keep roads safer this American Thanksgiving travel season with its 'Tow to Go' program, running from Nov 26th at 6 pm. through Dec 1st at 6 am. The service offers a safe ride for anyone who finds themselves impaired and unable to drive, sending a tow truck to pick up the driver and their vehicle. The program transports both to a secure location within 10 miles and is free, confidential, and available to both members and non-members.
With a record 81.1 million Americans expected to hit the road this Thanksgiving and over 12,000 alcohol-related crash deaths reported in 2023, AAA hopes the program can help save lives during one of the year’s most dangerous travel weekends. “AAA encourages everyone to celebrate responsibly by planning ahead. Designate a sober driver, use a rideshare service, or stay overnight if needed,” said AAA spokesperson Mark Jenkins about the program.
Those seeking to use the program can call (855) 2-TOW-2-GO or (855) 286-9246 for access.
