Abstract Organ-Adding Attire

The Toma Stenko Fall 2013 Collection Creates Strange New Forms

The Toma Stenko Fall 2013 ready to wear collection closed the Central Saint Martins' show, saving some of the most striking looks for last. This graduate's work featured some of the most unusual silhouettes, which featured fabric draped over organic organ-like forms which gave the human form a redefined shape.

The druid-like garments use mostly head-to-toe monochromatic color schemes -- one of the looks is almost completely made in an apricot color, except for a hint of blue on the toe of the model's shoe. Stenko uses color blocking and twisted color arrangements to distort the human form in unexpected ways.

Although these garments may not be conventionally beautiful or flattering, Stenko's garments use color and shape in an inventive way to create bold new forms for the human body.
